Carpentry & Joinery Short Courses

This course is beneficial to anyone who works with fire doors and wishes to develop their knowledge, understanding and awareness in this area of carpentry. 

The Award in Fire Door Safety has been developed in collaboration with the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) to promote the importance of the appropriate installation of timber fire doors and door sets. 

In addition to the legislation and guidance associated with fire door assemblies, you will learn about the role of timber fire door assemblies and door sets, and why it is important that they are installed correctly. 

You will develop an understanding how fire door assemblies and door sets work, and their place in the wider passive fire protection system. You will also learn the considerations that must be made before, during and on completion of installation. 

This is a theory-based course which will be delivered using a blend of learning techniques including PowerPoint presentation and group interactive tasks. The assured training materials supplied by the BWF to deliver this Award in Fire Door Safety will provide all the information you need to successfully complete the course.
