Following the recent announcements by the Government about the possibility of re-starting some face-to-face teaching in schools and colleges, the College has begun planning how best to support those students who would benefit from some on-campus learning activities. Although we are carefully considering the Government guidance on which students to include, we are reviewing the position of every student on every programme and will only invite those where we feel it is vital to support in-person. All other students will continue to work remotely until the government restrictions are relaxed further.
We believe it is important for the safety and wellbeing of all students and staff that any return to on-campus delivery needs to be kept to an absolute minimum, and this will not take place until the week commencing 22 June at the earliest. Those students affected will receive a limited on-campus timetable covering those activities that cannot be undertaken effectively through remote learning.
Unless you receive a specific invitation and a personalised timetable, you cannot return to on-campus studies. Attendance will be strictly according to your timetable and will require you to comply with new regulations regarding your conduct while on the College campus, including social-distancing and the wearing of any personal protective equipment (PPE) specific to the activity you are undertaking. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in your timetable being withdrawn. We will write again to those who we are inviting back to site with more specific information about their return.
Students who are invited to return for on-campus activities, who are either unable or unwilling to do so, may delay or defer the completion and achievement of their qualification(s) until such time as the required activities or assessments are completed.
Please be reassured that our priority is the health and wellbeing of our students and staff. While we are planning the return to campus for some students over the summer period, we are also looking ahead to how we deliver education and services to our students from September. We will not be rushing into anything and are keeping the safety of all our students and staff at the centre of our decisions.
