National Careers Week is taking place from Monday 4th March until Saturday 9th March, and to celebrate, Buxton & Leek College are offering a variety of different engagement opportunities to students both within the curriculum and at lunchtimes.
An employer’s marketplace will be available to students from 10am until 2pm throughout the week and will give students the chance to speak to a wide range of employers about potential careers and the occupational routes available within different sectors.
Throughout the week each subject area will have a guest speaker visit during lessons including the Derbyshire Police, High Peak Baby Bank, an FD Media Make Up Special Effects & Hair Design HE student, Bee Motion Accounting, Progressive Energy, and Stoke City FC to name just a few.
Industry Insights Broadcast for students will have webinars available on Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure on Wednesday 6th March at 10am, with a chance for the audience to ask any questions they may have about moving forward.
Buxton & Leek College’s Apprenticeships Team and Staffordshire University will also be offering lunchtime workshops so learners can fully understand all the routes and options available to them in the future.
Not to mention that the College’s Future Focus sessions during National Careers Week will be tailored towards the career aspirations of each group too, so learners have a personalised approach to their next steps.
