WHETHER you want to get creative or heal yourself with herbs, there are fresh opportunities for everyone at Buxton & Leek College this spring.
Evening and daytime sessions in the Leek, Blythe Bridge, Biddulph and Buxton areas offer adults a chance to try something new through Staffordshire County Council funded Learning for Leisure courses at both Buxton and Leek College campuses and outside venues such as Biddulph High School.
Floristry for spring and summer promises workshops designed to help you brighten your home with sessions delivered at Buxton and Biddulph while budding artists might be tempted to try Mixed Media – an introduction to a wide range of art techniques – delivered in the brand new William Morris Building of Leek School of Art on the Leek Campus.
Sign language for beginners and an introduction to Counselling offer learners the chance to improve their communication skills. But if it’s your health you are looking to improve, then The Kitchen Medicine Cupboard is an unmissable opportunity to have a qualified herbal practitioner to guide you. Meanwhile, an Introduction to Holistic Therapies could be the perfect stress reliever and a chance to learn the techniques of Body Massage and Indian Head Massage.
New to the College this year is an Introduction to Laser Cutting which is ideal for anyone interested in making their own cards or wedding stationery. A knowledge of Photoshop is an advantage but no qualifications are necessary to give the new technique a try.
Other sessions aimed at complete beginners include Guitar Lessons, Graphic and Street Art and Creative Writing where there are no rules, no regulations, just turn up and write!
Most sessions are held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings but daytime classes are also on offer. For details of all these and other leisure courses, click here to see the courses or to book your place, call 0800 74 0099.
