This year Buxton & Leek College will be marking Remembrance Day with a special virtual video service taking place from 10.45am on Wednesday 11 November. Simply visit the College’s Facebook and Youtube pages to watch.
There will be a number of special moments incorporated in the event including specially recorded musical performances from two bugle players. Public Services students are helping to coordinate the presentation as part of their Leadership module. Their tasks include researching content that relates to The Battle of Britain (80-year anniversary) and incorporating this theme into the event. Poems and emotive video content will be produced by the students and they will also read prayers.
Don’t forget – wear your poppy (colour of your choice) and join Buxton & Leek College to remember and honour those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life.
Despite the changes this year, The British Legion is encouraging people and organisations across the nations to ensure Remembrance is still marked appropriately by taking part in remote and socially distanced Remembrance activities, whether that be watching the service on television or pausing for the Two Minute Silence at home.
