BLC students reach WorldSkills UK finals

Three AAT Accounting apprentices from Buxton & Leek College have done their college and sector proud by reaching the finals of WorldSkills UK.

Globally recognised, WorldSkills UK sees apprentices across the country participate in regional and national competitions at their local colleges, training provider centres, workplaces, or online. Championing technical education as one of the key pillars necessary for economic growth, the competitions now span over 40 different skill sectors.

Excelling in their fields, Aaron Woodward who’s working with Bradbury & Son Ltd, Daniel Hallworth an apprentice from Prisma, and Eoin Jones from Grassmats, spent the last week competing at Oldham College, putting their skills, knowledge, and teamwork to the test.

As WorldSkills works tirelessly to empower young people from all backgrounds by advocating for vocational training and colleges, it’s no wonder that taking part in the competitions is such an important part of the Buxton & Leek College apprenticeship journey.

The ultimately career-focused approach to further education is helping to develop a diverse, creative, and passionate workforce and BLC is proud to be at the forefront.
