BLC APPRENTICESHIPS HOST VIRTUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR
As the Apprenticeship Team continues to work hard with our apprentices, it’s safe to say we’re all starting to get excited for Christmas.
So, with this in mind, our Apprenticeships Team wants to invite you to our very first BLC Apprenticeships Virtual Christmas Fair!
We’re hosting a variety of family-friendly competitions completely free to enter for all ages, we’d love for you to take part so why not get your parents or friends to join in the fun too! We are looking forward to seeing what everyone is creating at home and hope you all have fun!
To enter any of the competitions below, simply email your entry to feapprenticeships@blc.ac.uk and include your name, age and the competition in the email.
All entries will then be separated and judged in the following age categories:
- 12 and Under
- Over 13
All 1st place winners will be put forward to win overall ‘Best in Show’ sponsored by Oruna Foods – which will be judged by Buxton & Leek College Principal Len Tildsley and awarded a prize.
Category 1 – Best Christmas Craft/Creation: This could be a decorated cake or gingerbread house, tree decoration, or crafted item – To be judged by Tina Lancaster (BLC Assistant Principal) and Alison Loxton (BLC Deputy Principal). – 1st prize – 12 and under = Craft kit from Flamingo Cards (https://www.facebook.com/hollyflamingocards/) – 13 and over = Chocolate Bouquet from Lennys Gifts (https://www.facebook.com/lennysgiftsandtreats/ )
Category 2 – Best Festive Nails or Hair: Have some fun creating fun festive designs with your hair or nails. The more ‘Christmassy’ the better! – To be judged by Ruth Nuttall (Curriculum Leader for Hair and Beauty at BLC and Emma Cutts, BLC Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship Tutor). 1st prize 12 and under = Kids Bodyshop Bundle from Honey Bee Beauty (https://www.facebook.com/groups/529731881270740/?ref=group_header)– 13 and over = a Beauty product bundle from BLC Salon
Category 3 – Best Festive Pet Photo: Send us your photos of your pets at Christmas, be it dressed for the festive season, up to mischief, or looking cute under the tree. We can’t wait to see what they have been up to – To be judged by Kath Ferns (BLC Apprenticeships Recruitment Leader & Animal Lover). 1st prize 12 and under = Snowman Christmas tree ornament from Pretty Things by Lucy (https://www.facebook.com/Lucyunicornlove/) – 13 and over is a First Aid Kit from Purple Umbrella First Aid (https://www.facebook.com/purpleumbrellafirstaid/)
The closing date for entries is Midnight on Sunday 6th December 2020.
