Level 2 Beauty students took part in a MAC Make Up Lesson delivered by talented beauty therapist, MAC make up artist and beauty trainer Abbie Rowley. Abbie previously studied Beauty at Buxton & Leek College before securing a role as a make up artist at L’Oreal after her course, followed by a career at MAC that saw her become a trainer for the global brand.
Reflecting on her time at Buxton & Leek College, Abbie said: “My time at college was amazing! There was lots of opportunities for competitions which motivated me to want to achieve the most I could in my career. I really admired the tutors and is partly the reason that I felt inspired to want to train other people within the industry. I have now also set up my business Make Up Project to carry out freelance work for weddings. My motivation for all of this comes from my time at college”
They learned application and make up skills, insights into working in the beauty industry and how to start their career in make up.
Students at Buxton & Leek College also benefit from being able to purchase MAC make up at cost price in The Salon at each campus – an offer that can also be extended to friends and family – to help build up their make up kit and portfolio. Students can also buy a range of hair and beauty products at a discount.
