Engineering Apprentice

What you’ll do at work

The successful candidate will learn and gain a understanding on the service/maintenance of a range of construction plant and equipment including but not limited to the below;

Excavators
Dumpers
Tractors
Compaction Rollers
Commercial vehicles/Cars.
Small Plant- Stihl Saws, wacker plates, hydraulic breakers.

From our workshop facility in Rushton Spencer working alongside our small maintinance team you will gain invaluable experiance and 1-1 tutoring learning how to service and maintain our fleet of over 100 vehicles.
In addition to working from our workshop you may also attend breakdowns with our team on site.

Workshop/ Yard in Rushton Spencer.

Training

Training in the workplace;

  • Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Basic maintenance training
  • Mechanical problem solving
  • Auto electrical problem solving
  • Fabricating/Repairs
  • Bodywork repairs

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE English (Grade 4/C or above) essential
  • GCSE Maths (Grade 4/C or above) essential

Other requirements

Applicants should have a keen interest in mechanising and construction equipment.

Please consider how you will to work each day as transport to Rushton Spencer is not very good, you could look into schemes such as Moorlands Connect if you do not have your own, reliable, form of transport.

There will be some requirement to work outdoors when it is not possible to work on machinery inside the workshop.

After this apprenticeship

We anticipate this apprenticeship to lead to a permanent position on completion with the possibility of specialist/further training.
