Early Years Educator Apprentice

We are a busy after-school and breakfast club based on Whaley Bridge. We are offering an apprenticeship, suitable for those who want to plan, organise and lead enriching learning activities and perhaps supervise others. This qualification also enables you to be counted within the staff/child ratio guidelines in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework settings.

Annual wage £11,778 per year minimum

Working Hours – We are open between 7.30am – 9am and 3pm – 6pm. Your working hours will be discussed at the interview. Some hours will also be available in the nursery. We can be flexible and will offer 30 hours per week, term time only. Some additional work may also be available during the holiday clubs.

What you’ll do at work

Duties will include;

  • supporting or leading educational games
  • conducting activities such as crafts, music and cooking
  • preparing the learning environment with resources and displays
  • helping with trips and outings
  • observing and assessing children to help their learning

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Early Years Educator Level 3

Your training plan

Apprentices will attend on-campus face-to-face training days every 6-8 weeks, college transport is available.

Apprentices will also be visited in the workplace by their assigned instructor-mentor who will complete observations, and professional discussions and guide the apprentice throughout their apprenticeship.

More training information

The apprentices will be supported throughout their apprenticeship to complete additional courses such as pediatric first aid, additional safeguarding and food hygiene.

Other requirements

Please consider how you will get to work each day, some shifts may start at 7.30am or end at 6pm. You will be provided with a club polo shirt.

We are a busy club offering child care at breakfast, after school and holiday club. We offer care to a wide range of children aged 4 to 11, allowing them to try new activities and make new friends in a safe environment.

We aim to offer a permanent position following successful completion of this qualification, depending on attendance numbers.
