If you think Apprenticeships are only for the young, think again
Each year thousands of adults gain the skills and qualifications they need to progress in their career and increase their earning potential with an Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are ideal for developing the skills that are specific to your current job role or developing competence for a new role. You’ll attend College or University one day a week and usually be in work for the other four days. Apprenticeships are at the forefront of Government education reform and many changes have been implemented to create standards for Apprenticeships that are employer-led. This means that opportunities for high level and professional Apprenticeship positions are opening up to the future workforce who are either looking for an alternative route to gaining a University degree or to gain a highly recognised qualification that will help enhance their career prospects.
The University of Derby and Buxton & Leek College are offering, and continuing to develop, a range of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships that meet employer expectations and local skills requirements.
We currently offer Apprenticeships in:
- AAT Accounting
- Business
- Management
- Engineering and Technology
- Manufacturing
- Teaching
